Paradise of the Titans release their first single, Mermaid, off their upcoming EP and have given LTW the opportunity to premiere the accompanying video.
A Coventry based duo, created by Alice Weston (formerly of They Come For You In The Night, who we featured here) and joined by keyboardist Sarah Scouller, Paradise of the Titans explore fantastical mythologies, weaving complex structures within a soundscape that is part dream-pop, part psych-synth.
Lead track, Mermaid, showcased by a glittering, dreamlike video that is reminiscent of SF cult films like Barbarella, has reverse vocals overlapping and reverberating, creating a mystical language, like Elizabeth Fraser, or imagine the music Enya would have made had she taken hallucinogenic drugs. Backed by minimalist synth and an 80s drum beat, it can transport you into another realm of the subconscious. A song to carry you away to a land where face masks aren’t required…
The four track Mermaid EP will be released on 28th August, 2020 as a download, stream and limited run of cassette tapes.
