Viewers of Celebrity Gogglebox were left shocked after discovering the real name of Rylan Clark-Neal.

The TV presenter appeared on the C4 entertainment series alongside his mother, Linda.

At one stage, he teases Linda after bringing in some iced fingers from the kitchen.

“I bet you’ll have one,” he says to her. Linda replies: ”No I won’t – Ross will you stop it, I don’t want one.”

While Clark-Neal didn’t react, many viewers were left confused before realising that Rylan is a name he picked for himself.

“Hang on – Rylan’s real name is Ross,” one person wrote on Twitter, with another adding: “Wait Ross? ROSS? I’m shook.”

One person couldn’t believe they’d “only just realised” his first name wasn’t actually Rylan. Another called it a “revelation”.

“How many people just googled @Rylan to see if his mum got his name wrong,” a viewer added. ”I never knew he was Ross!”

Clark-Neal found fame as an X Factor contestant in 2012 before becoming a TV presenter.

Before that, he was a model, which is when he changed his name from Ross to Rylan.
