Martha Hill delves into the various smaller obstacles involved in everyday relationship life on “Grilled Cheese”, referencing silly arguments over meal prep, and in particular, whether raw onions should or shouldn’t be included in a grilled cheese. Ultimately, Hill chooses to emphasise and encourage optimism.
She describes the track as being a “dissection of a relationship,” and about “daft arguments about food prep, bouncing off each other negatively, jealousy, but in the end still believing things are going to get better.”
Having drawn the track from her forthcoming EP Summer Up North, Martha Hill is proving herself as an artist with a talent for unique, realistic lyricism and a certain punk-rock positivity.
